Infant Primary Coordinator's Message

Halide Atasay
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I would like to thank parents for attending the Foundation Program for year 2017 and anticipate that it will be a successful educational year for your child in 2017. The Prep Transition program was held on Thursday the 17th of November, 2016. This session ran from 9.45 am- 11.00 am. We hope the program assisted parents and students in the transition process into a primary school environment.
School will commence on Thursday the 2nd of February 2017, at 8.55am and end at 3.30pm. In order to make it a positive transition, all Foundation students will initially attend school for four days during the first four weeks of school. Please note that there will be no school on Wednesdays. Full time classes will begin on the 6th of March, 2017.
Prep students will NOT be attending school on:
- Wednesday, 8th of February 2017
- Wednesday, 15th of February 2017
- Wednesday, 22nd of February 2017
- Wednesday, 1st of March 2017
FRIENDLY REMINDERS:
- ŸPlease ensure your child’s medical condition is reported to the classroom teacher / office. Provide clear documentation of any action plans/medication. For example, anaphylaxis, asthma and other allergies.
- ŸHealthy lunches/snacks to be packed. We are a nut-free school.
- Do not put nutella/peanut butter on your child’s sandwich. Do not include any type of food that contains nuts.
- Sun smart policy applies during term 1 and term 4. This means students will need to come to school with their sun screen applied on at home and ensure they wear their hat whilst outside. (NO HAT - NO PLAY!)
- ŸPack spare change of clothes in a plastic bag labelled with your child’s name – undergarments, pants, etc. (accidents may occur). Students need to come to school in their full uniform. Girls need to have their hair tied up. You will be notified of the Sport day for your child at a later date and on those days, your child will need to wear his/her sports uniform.
- ŸPlease ensure your child brings along a box of tissues and a packet of wet/baby wipes.
- Homework: your child will be bringing home homework on a weekly basis. This will commence after the 4-week transition period.
- We appreciate your cooperation. If you have any further queries, don’t hesitate to ring the school at 03 9363-5300.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all students and parents for their hard work throughout the year. I would also like to especially thank the infant department, dedicated colleagues, management team and coordinators for their hard work and endless support throughout the year.
Wishing everyone a well deserved and peaceful holiday. Looking forward in seeing you all back in the year 2017.
Kind regards,
Mrs Halide Atasay
